Tau House - The Perfect Alternative to a Cal Dorm

Are you a student looking for a Cal Dorm? With it's prime location at Piedmont Avenue and Channing Way, Tau house is a perfect alternative to Cal Dorms for Berkeley students enrolled or interested in Undergraduate Study, Graduate Study, International Diploma Program, Summer School, Berkeley Fall Program for Freshman, Berkeley EAP, and more. Students needing a Cal Dorm but currently enrolled at other local accredited colleges and international students attending a local accredited school are also welcome.

Unlike a Cal Dorm, Tau House is kept to the greatest of standards, with the security, immaculateness and comfort to make your experience as positive and enjoyable as possible. Tau House maintains a more friendly and home-like atmosphere than Cal Dorms for its members who often develop permanent friendships while pursuing their scholastic goals and participating together in team sports, social, humanitarian and cultural activities.

Make your college experience easy, comfortable and memorable with our in-house services! Membership in Alpha Epsilon Phi's Tau House includes room, board, social events and activities that go far beyond those offered at Cal Dorms. Unlike a Cal Dorm, each room comes equipped with furniture, and international students are provided further niceties such as desk lamps, towels, blankets and linens, to allow you to focus on your studies instead of your Cal Dorm.

If you're interested in UC Berkeley housing, you have many options open to you. Residence halls like the cal UC Berkeley dorms, fraternities/sororities, UC Berkeley co-ops, options like International House (ihouse) or Westminster house, and Cal Dorms may seem like a good deal, but often fall flat in terms of the services they offer and state of the facilities. After settling for a Cal Dorm options, students are often dismayed to find that, unlike Tau House, bathrooms and common areas in these residences are not well-maintained and cleaned, they do not provide sufficient security, offer meager meal options, and fail to take into account the special requirements of international students.

At Tau House, students can expect a higher level of service than at a Cal Dorm, including:

  • 18 delicious meals a week and daily maid service of the community areas.
  • Recreation areas with wide-screen television, table tennis, pool tables, and basketball.
  • Computer, study, laundry facilities, and two large sun-decks... luxuries that give Tau House an edge over Cal Dorms
  • Wireless internet available.
  • A House Director and Resident Assistants on duty for students that need help.
