UC Berkeley International Semester Application
Please note that this is an application only. Final terms will be outlined in the membership contract. Fees include membership, social and educational activities in addition to housing and meals at Tau House. Members of Tau House must be students who are enrolled in the University of California at Berkeley, University of California Extension Programs and other local accredited colleges and schools for international students. Alpha Epsilon Phi (Tau Chapter) is a California non-profit corporation, which was founded in 1923
Tau House provides 18 meals a week, furnished rooms, daily maid service in the common areas, use of recreation, computer and study rooms, wireless internet laundry facilities and decks with views of Berkeley and San Francisco. Tau House is a security building located within walking distance of the University of California, the Freshman Extension Program campus and downtown Berkeley.
PRICES FOR 2011 FALL SEMESTER and 2012 SPRING SEMESTER:
In every room, each student has his/her own desk, chair bed, dresser space and closet.

** Note: In addition to the above fees, Tau House requires a $200 deposit. Your deposit is nonrefundable if you cancel your reservation less than 4 weeks before the start of your class.
To reserve a space, click "Apply Now" at the bottom of this page. You may pay the $200 deposit by credit card online, or choose pay by check to send in your application deposit by mail. Alternatively, you may download the application packet in PDF form at the bottom of this page and send it in to our office by mail.
FEES:
Fees are normally non-refundable unless specifically designated to be so. All fees must be paid in full on the date stated for their payment in the selected payment plan. No fees are refundable until and unless licensor is able to replace a licensee who vacates or fails to occupy his or her place with a licensee for a similar type of residence (i.e. single, double, triple room). Licensor shall exercise its best efforts toward such replacement and to mitigate against harm but licensee acknowledges that when the designated term has begun it is difficult and often impossible to replace licensees.
PAYMENT INFORMATION:
ACADEMIC YEAR
1. After the initial application fee, if the balance due is made in one payment a $100 discount is given. Payment is due on or before June 15st. Applicants after that date must pay in full to receive $100 discount.
2. After the initial application fee, one half of the balance is due on June 15st or at the time of application and the balance is payable on or before November 15th.
3. After the initial application fee, the balance due may be paid in four equal payments with an additional $25 fee per payment. The payment due dates are June 15st or at time of application, October 15th, December 15th, and March 15th.
SEMESTER
1. Subtract $25 if you are making one payment. The total Payment is due by June 15th or upon receiving your housing agreement.
2. If you are making two payments, one half the total amount is due by June 15th or upon receipt of your housing agreement and the balance is payable on or before October 15th. For Spring Semester Contract, the first is payable by December 15th or upon receipt of your housing agreement and the rest is payable on or before March 15th.
Financial Aid Students
Students receiving financial aid need to send a copy of their Financial Aid papers and pay as soon as your receive your financial aid.
GUEST AND EXTENDED STAY FEES:
These fees must be paid in advance according to the rules of the housing agreement.
LATE PAYMENTS AND BOUNCED CHECK FEES:
$35 for bounced checks and $35 monthly fee for late payments.
PARKING:
There are a limited number of parking spaces. Parking is $350 semester.
